Lyrics
Fireflies
I was standing three blocks south-wind Just before towers fell
I was not among the wounded
But now I don’t breath so well
I dug nearly half the night
With my bare hands in the smokey light
Lost my best friend on that day
When the second tower hit the ground
I still can hear the sirens in my ears
So deafening was the sound
It’s what I think about
When all the lights go out
They were shining like fireflies under the sun
Leaping out into the morning like swans
It’s not where we go it is how we run
To meet our destiny
So we’ll find the ones who did this twice
And we’ll make them all to sacrifice But hatred cannot win this fight
When only fear prevails
Soldiers from every land
Under an iron hand
But they were shining like fireflies under the sun
Leaping out into the morning like swans
It’s not where we go it is how we run
To meet our destiny
